Here are some of the frequent questions we receive about personalisation.
Where is the engraving placed on My Sporran?
Typically, our engraved messages go on the back of the sporran just below where you would attach your chain strap. There is enough room for a small paragraph or a meaningful image. You can choose a specific font if you would like to match a certain aesthetic; just let us know your preferred font so our sporran makers can check we have this is available in our file.

We offer a specific laser etched collection featuring sporrans designed with a larger surface area on the front to engrave large images and designs.
Note: As professional sporran makers in Scotland, we maintain high standards and reserve the right to refuse any designs that are offensive or derogatory.
Can the metal work on the dress sporrans be engraved?
Yes. We have several sporran options than can allow customers to engrave the metal work onto the dress sporran style, if you would prefer something more discrete. There are limited sporran cantles that allow you to engrave, if you would like something bolder, we would opt for our AC8 dress sporran that will allow you to add a large engraving onto the front of the sporran. Alternatively, if you do not want metal work like this, we can also engrave a leather targe onto the front of the sporran with your design.
What if I like the sporran without the laser etching?
If you find a particular sporran you love on our website but would prefer it plain or with a different engraving, you can let our team of sporran makers know by adding this in the ‘additional comments’ before checkout or follow it up with an email to let us know.
Can I add engraving later?
Yes. If you aren’t ready to decide on a design today, you can send the sporran back to our workshop at a later date. We can place your sporran back onto the laser bed and add your text or imagery. Please note that standard engraving fees and return postage will apply.
