2025: A Year of Hard Work, Heritage and Highlights

Our 2025 Sporran year in Review

2025 is drawing to a close, we’ve put our tools down and hung up our sporran aprons, we can finally take a pause and reflect on what an amazing year our small team of bespoke sporran makers have achieved in our humble Perth workshop. In a moment of calm, it’s always a great time to reflect on the highs of year of crafting sporrans and how we can be even better for 2026!

Built for the Strongest: Sporrans at the Rogue Invitational 2025

This year was an amazing year for the team we took on a huge project which led to us collaborating with and making sporrans for one of the biggest fitness empires in the world-Rogue Invitational Fitness. Our very good friends at Mitchell & Scott designed several Scottish Gifts that would be presented to the athletes competing during the games. We hand crafted 92 daywear sporrans in our Perth workshop, which combined our red suede interior with black leather, finished with personal logo engraving on the body of the sporran for the athletes. This tested the durability of our handmade sporrans if they could withstand the presence (and physiques) of the world’s fittest athletes, then they are built to last a lifetime! You can watch our full journey on YouTube: Making the Invitational Rogue Sporrans.

From Perth to Centre Court: A Sporran for a Sporting Icon

Our collaboration with the world’s best athletes didn’t stop there from Perth to Centre Court, our very own Sir Andy Murray needed a black classic daywear sporran for his new Walkers Christmas campaign. The very talented Siobhan Mackenzie designed a classic black daywear sporran with laser etching on the body which completes the look with the Walker’s Christmas jumper, created to support Cash for Kids’ Mission Christmas, with all profits going directly to the charity.

Stitched in History: A Legacy Reborn

A tough accolade follows but for the first time since 1938, the reformed Duff Highlanders stepped out at the Braemar Games-proudly wearing sporrans handcrafted by Margaret Morrison. This was a huge project for our team of highly skilled sporran makers; we took on aspects of sporran making that were un-known territory to our profession and the results were phenomenal! The Duff Highlanders looked extremely smart on parade at the Braemar Games with their handcrafted sporrans and made to measure cross belts. We are looking forward to their next recruitment so the team can make more!

Award Winning Craftsmanship: Why our Workshop is Defining Modern Tradition

We decided this year to take a bigger stand at the Royal Highland Show in Edinburgh this year and it might have been the outfits made by Shilling & FitzN or it might have been our handcrafted sporrans that landed us best in show in the home & gift hall. It was a massive achievement for us to win this award despite our craft being listed as endangered we continue to strive to produce handmade goods in Scotland in our Perth workshop preserving sporran making and this award proudly hangs in our showroom. This award is a testament to our team or skilled artisans and a reflection of our ambition to preserve sporran making and innovate where we can!

2025 wrapped can be summarised in one word ‘braw’, we hope to continue our success and achieve more in 2026!  In the spirit of the Highlands, I’m raising a glass to a phenomenal 2025. In Gaelic, we say Slàinte mhath—good health—and I wish exactly that to all the clients, athletes, and legends who made this year our best one yet.
